LENTEN GROUPS   Sincere thanks to all who volunteered their homes as hosts to the Lenten Groups. Today in the porch you are asked to put your names against the time and venue that suits you best from the list.  There is a good variety of optional times and days to choose from. The first meetings commences on the week beginning Sunday, 14 February.  The Lenten Course lasts for just 6 consecutive weeks.  They should all be finished by Palm Sunday.  Buy your booklet from the Parish shop.

PRE CONFIRMATION PROGRAMME  As last year we invite all those in Year 9  who wish to go forward for the Sacrament of Confirmation 2011, to attend the  5 week Pre Confirmation “back to basics” Course, starting Sunday, 21 February in the Old Hall at 7.00 pm for one hour. This Course is compulsory for those thinking about being Confirmed 2011.

DAY OUT There are now over 30 parishioners attending the St Patrick’s Show in Brick Lane Music Hall, London, on Monday, 15 March. We have filled one coach, however, we will leave the list in the porch should you decide to join us, as we have provisionally booked another smaller coach. The cost is £30 per person this includes the show, afternoon tea & return coach.  Departing at 12 noon and returning by 6 pm.

APPEAL   Mr John Greig will appeal at all Masses today on behalf of Aid to the Church in Need.

WORLD YOUTH 10-23 August 2011. SECOND COLLECTION   There will be a Second Collection next weekend for the work of the Cabrini Children’s Society.

SHOP   The Parish Shop at the entrance porch in Sacred Heart stocks a variety of Cards for all occasions and is now displaying “St Patrick’s Day Cards”. Take a look on your way out.

PRAYER GROUP   The prayer group will meet on Thursday, 18 February 2010 at 8pm in the Sacristy.  There is a book in the porch for you to write down your prayer intentions.  All Welcome.

KEY HOLDERS   The register of key holders for the parish needs to be updated for insurance purposes and every key holder will be required to sign a new agreement form.  All key holders please contact the parish office on 01883 343241 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. TODDLER GROUP   Toddler Group on Tuesdays from 9.30 - 11.30 term time only in the Old Hall – All Welcome.

SUNDAY EVENING MASS This Mass continues at the Sacred Heart until further notice, starting at 5.15 pm. If the heating has not been restored satisfactorily, the 5 pm Mass will return to St Thomas on Palm Sunday, regardless.

CONGRATULATIONS   to John and Brenda Gilford celebrating their Golden Jubilee of Marriage next weekend at the 6 pm Mass.

CAFOD IRISH NIGHT   Saturday, 20 March. Tickets on sale after Masses next weekend or telephone Chris 01883 343404 or Biddy 01883 345749.   £10 adults, £6 children. Includes 2-course Irish supper with traditional live music.  If you are unable to come along to support this worthy cause, a raffle prize or small donation would be greatly appreciated. BISHOP KIERAN   Bishop Kieran will be giving a talk on “The place of the Catholic Church in a changing world” this evening at 6.30 pm in the Sacred Heart Church followed by Tea /Coffee in the Centenary Hall afterwards.  It is hoped that you will come and listen to what he has to say. He is returning to the parish on Wednesday, 24 February when he will have an open meeting with the parish in the Centenary Hall at 7 pm.  All welcome to attend.
