CAR PARK    We recently had an altercation with Essendene Lodge Private School over the whole issue of the parents availing of our Car Park facilities, which you may have  read about in the newspapers or heard it on the Radio.  I do have a duty of care to protect our property from abuse. The Car Park is rapidly deteriorating and we will soon be facing a sizeable bill for its repair. Sadly, the Car Park and Church grounds are now treated by the general public as the Roundabout on Essendene Road and a free-for-all to park there at any time they choose. I intend installing gates and signs to prevent this continuing and to let all unauthorised parkers know that those who do so, are in fact trespassing on Private Property.  Permits will be issued to those entering a financial agreement with us to use the Car Park.   I am especially grateful to John Jones who bore the brunt of the verbal abuse hurled at him from some of the parents of Essendene School while the ban on parking was being enforced.  A concordat was reached with the School Management on Wednesday, but the Car Park will continue to be sporadically monitored.

CONMEN   A couple of conmen are active in the Caterham area.  Be vigilant.
