0-7 CHRISTMAS PARTY   As a direct result of last week’s meeting concerning social events for  0-7’s, a Christmas Party with Santa’s Grotto will take place on Sunday 20 December starting at 11.30 am. Admission is free but £2 to visit Santa’s Grotto. Bar facilities will be available.  We need Christmas lights and Decorations and as many as possible to help “construct” Santa’s Grotto and decorate the Hall starting at 8 am on the 20th !

YOUTH ACTIVITY EVENT  Those who are 7 plus are invited to join Mark O’Dell and Team on Sunday, 6 December from 3.00 - 4.30 pm, for indoor Hockey, Volleyball, Basketball and Football, in the  de Stafford Sports Centre,  £2 each.  Please ring Mark to confirm. 07960-904425 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. PARISH SOCIAL EVENTS   We do have from time to time a Parish Social Committee meeting which is open to anyone to attend with ideas for future social events. The next Meeting will be on Tuesday, 1 December at 7.30 pm in the Presbytery.  All welcome.

PARISH OUTING   The next trip will be on Saturday, 5 December to the 2009 Dickensian Christmas in Rochester followed by a visit to the Dickens World/Retail Park in Chatham. Cost of the 22 seater coach will be £12. This is filling up very fast, put your name down on the sheet of paper in porch.  The coach will leave at 10am.

ADVENT GROUPS   Thanks to those who have offered hospitality in their homes for the forth-coming Advent Groups.  The full list of names, venues and times are now awaiting your signatures to participate in the porch.  Please fill in your name today. The Groups will meet this coming week and for the next 3 consecutive weeks.

PRAYER GROUP   The prayer group will meet on Thursday, 19 November at 8 pm in the Sacristy.  There is a book in the porch for you to write down your prayer intentions.  All Welcome.

PARISH WELCOMERS    All parish Welcomers are invited to come to a get-together with Diocesan Reps in the Old Hall on Saturday, 28 November from 10 am – 1 pm.

SECOND   COLLECTION   Today there will be a Second Collection for the Retired Priests of our Diocese.

PARISH LEAVEN GROUP   The next meeting of the Leaven Group is this Wednesday, at 8pm. If there is anything you wish to raise, please let one of the Leaven Group know or Fr Kieran at the Presbytery.

ALTAR SERVERS   Please will all altar servers wishing to serve at 10:30 Masses on Sundays during December and January give their names to Daniel Nicholls or sign up on the list in the sacristy (even if they are on the most recent rota).  Alternatively, email their names to him at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. BAPTISMS   Today I will baptise Ruben Boudville; Oliver Kolkman; Alfie Allen and Charlie Allen.  Next Sunday I will baptise Alicia, Holly and Kimberley Reynolds.

Westerham Brewery   The Tandridge Catenian Association has organised a visit to the Westerham Brewery on Thursday, 3 December.  The tour, tasting and buffet is from 7.30 – 9.30 and costs £14. All welcome.  Details from Mike Wood on 01883 348081.

VACANCY   The John Fisher School, Purley have a vacancy for a Learning Support Assistant, application available from their web site on www.johnfisher.sutton.sch.uk with information on the school and job description.  Completed application forms should be sent with a covering letter to the Bursar by 12 noon on Monday 30 November 2009.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD   Shoe Box Appeal 2009.  Filled boxes are delivered to under privileged children, in Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia who are victims of war, poverty, famine, disease and natural disaster.  Forms are available at the back of the church with details of how to fill the boxes etc.  The final collection date for the shoe boxes is Monday, 23 November 2009.  For more details please contact Chrissie Frazer on 07973 135394

ADVENT   Next Sunday marks the beginning of the holy Season of Advent. The Liturgical cycle changes to Week C for Sundays and Week 2 for weekdays.

YOUTH CHOIR   The youth choir will be singing Christmas Carols at both the Sacred Heart Christmas Fayre and the St Francis School Christmas Fayre.  There will be one practise to cover both events.  Practise Time 3.30 to 4.15, on Friday, 27 November at St Francis Primary School, Whyteleafe Road.  Performance Time 1.00, Date: Sunday, 29 November, Location: Centenary Hall, Sacred Heart Christmas Fayre.  Performance Time: 1.00 Date: Sunday, 13 December, Location St Francis Primary School Christmas Fayre

We will not be singing at Mass again until early in the New Year.

·         Don’t forget to bring your cake donation next Saturday or Sunday morning (28 & 29 November). 

·         For all stall holders the hall will be available from 10am on Saturday, 28 November to give you plenty of time to set-up.

·         Craft/Preparation evening on Wednesday, 25 November 2009 at 8pm in the Committee Room of the Centenary Hall.

The Fayre is next Sunday, 29 November from 11.30 – 2.30 pm.
