Thanks    My sincere thanks to all who helped make the church look splendid for our celebrations today—Flower arrangers—Sacristans—those who helped install the Christmas trees both inside and outside the church—church cleaners. The Christmas period lasts until the Feast of the Epiphany 6th January.

CAFOD  Have you made a new year’s resolution?  Why not volunteer for CAFOD? Would you like to help out in the parish, in the CAFOD office, with campaigns or in fundraising?  Why not join our team of fully trained School Volunteers and help children and young people become aware of poverty and injustice, and help them create a fairer world.  Experience in school is not essential but may help.  If you are interested in sparing a few hours to help change the world in any of these ways please do get in touch on 01483 898866 or   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Diocesan Directory   The new Diocesan Directory for 2012 is now on sale from the shop, price £4.

New Years Lunch 2012   The New Year lunch is being held on Saturday 14th January in the Centenary Hall.  You can still put your name down on the sheet in the porch, if you haven't already rang through to Cathy to inform her.  01883 343581. This lunch is for  the  senior members of our parish only.   If you would like to volunteer to help in any way—to serve or cook, even for an hour or two, let Cathy know.

Driver  Driver urgently required for 10.30 am Mass to pick up a passenger on a rota once a month. Ring Geoff Orton 01883 346650.

Social Committee Meeting   At the recently held parish social committee meeting, it was decided to hold the next Salsa dinner dance on Saturday 4th February.  If you can help with poster advertising, it would be appreciated. Please let the office know.  More info to follow later.

Sacred Heart 0-5 Liturgy Group    We are in need of some volunteers for the 0-5's Liturgy group. You would be required to carry out either the 9am or 10.30 session (or both if you like) every 6-8 weeks. Full training would be given and you would be partnered with an a experienced member of our team. The Peace Light will be brought into our church at the 9.00p.m. Mass tonight.   The flame starts its journey at the Grotto of Christ’s birth where a Muslim Scout passes the flame to a Jewish Scout and then onto a Christian Scout for distribution around the world so that people can burn the flame in their homes and churches over Christmas.   Anyone who wants, can light their own light from it to take back home to burn over Christmas as a focus for prayer and a reminder of the need for peace, generosity and tolerance in our homes, in our country and throughout the world.

Baptism   Georgia Jenny key will be Baptised here on Tuesday.

Crib Collection   The monies raised from donations towards the Crib will go towards the Cabrini Children Society.

Feasts  Tomorrow, Monday is the Feast of St Stephen, the first Christian martyr. Tuesday is the Feast of St John the Evangelist. Wednesday is the Feast of the Holy Innocents. Thursday is St Thomas Becket. Friday is the Feast of the Holy Family and next Sunday is the Solemnity of Mary the Mother of God. New Years Day.

Diocesan Curial Office  is closed until January 5th.

White Flower Appeal  This will take place next  Sunday 1st January at all Masses.

Catholic Papers  The Universe and the Catholic Times will be double issue this  week and their price respectively will be £2.60p.
