29 November11.30 to 2.30 pmThis year the Christmas fayre will see parish groups coming together to bring some festive cheer in the lead up to Christmas with each group running a stall. This will be an opportunity for parishioners to find out what goes on within the parish community and to learn more about the different work of each group - even volunteering to join if they wish! Parish groups taking part include: RCIA, senior citizens lunch team, parent & toddler group, youth group, APF boxes team, leaven group, church cleaners, CAFOD, Fairtrade, church flower arrangers team, confirmation group, children's liturgy, Brownies, Scouts, St Vincent de Paul, Knights of St Columba, bar and social committee, St Francis Catholic School, parish shop.
A selection of stalls …….This promises to be a fun filled day with a selection of stalls where there is an opportunity to buy Christmas gifts such as table decorations, candles, Christmas wreaths, homemade jams and preserves and beauty products. For those feeling lucky, try your luck on the bottle tombola, hamper raffle, spin the wheel or ferret roulette! As always, children will be spoilt for choice with a selection of crafts that they can make and wrap as gifts, face painting, cuddly toy tombola and toy stall as well as visiting Father Christmas at Santa's grotto.If you're feeling peckish there will, as always, be a delicious selection of food served from the kitchen, as well as minced pies, mulled wine, irish coffees, cakes, and for an after lunch treat visit the sweet stall.If you are part of a parish group and would like to run a stall at the fayre, contact the parish office. Calling all cake bakers!! Cake decorating competition. As this was so successful last year, we will be holding this again. If you would like to enter a cake in the cake decorating competition please let us know. All cakes entered will be put on display during the fayre and people are invited to put a bid to buy that cake. At the end of the fayre, the person with the highest bid purchases that cake. Weekly Collection of Items for the Fayre24 & 25 October - This weekend we are collecting jewellery, unopened beauty products, nearly new or new toys and games. 31 Oct/1 November - please bring your unwanted presents, CDs, DVDS, candles, table decorations, vases, ribbons, oasis, artificial flower, pine cones, good quality material etc 7 & 8 November - please bring your donations of sweets, unopened bottles (soft drinks and alcoholic) 14 & 15 November - please bring your donations of homemade jams, chutneys, honey and preserves & more bottles 21 & 22 November - please bring your donations of any of the above and more bottles 28 & 29 November – Cakes and Decorated cakes for the competition Christmas Cake Decorating Competition, this will give you a chance to show off your cake decorating skills, the cakes will be sold to the highest bidder after judging.
